Lean also provides a unique and practical approach to Strategic Planning; a number of organizations have created notable improvements in focus, alignment, buy-in, and execution of their strategic plans using this approach.
Sarah and Elaine will share EDC’s journey from strategy creation to strategy deployment highlighting how the organization adopted Martin/Lafley “Playing to Win” framework as well as a customized “ Hoshin X-Matrix” tool to change the way the organization mindset on strategy.”
Elaine Richardson is a Senior Advisor in Operational Excellence, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Export Development Canada. Throughout her 7 years at the EDC, Elaine has shown relentless focus on enabling a lean culture and supporting the organization in improving how EDC delivers value to the Canadian exporter. She is a recent graduate of the Masters of Business Operational Excellence program at Ohio State University. Elaine currently plays a key role in supporting the Executive leadership team in setting the enterprise direction for lean maturity.
Sarah El Tawansy is a Senior Advisor in Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Export Development Canada. Sarah has been a process improvement expert for 15 years, she worked as a software developer , process engineer, process architect and process improvement lead in an organization of nearly 70,000 people with more than dozen languages and cultures. Sarah holds a bachelor degree in computer and systems engineering and is a certified Software Quality Analyst, IBM solution Designer for Rational unified process, Certified Project Management Professional and holds ITIL foundation certificate in IT Service management as well as Six Sigma Black Belt certificate from ASQ. Sarah is advising Human Resources group.
