GETTING REGISTERED FOR THE CERTIFICATION EXAMGETTING READY FOR THE CERTIFICATION EXAMGETTING READY FOR RECERTIFICATION / ADDRESS
The registration process for the ASQ Certification Examination is self-explanatory.

For example, to apply for the certification examination for the Quality Auditor (CQA), please follow the following steps:

  1. Visit the ASQ Please click here
  2. Under “Certification” tab select appropriate certification (e.g., Quality Auditor (CQA))
  3. Check for qualification and experience requirements Please click here
  4. Choose exam date Please click here
  5. Apply for the certification Please click here Here you need your resume, credit card, etc. There is an application form where you need to mention which center you would like to take the exam. For the Ottawa exam location you may need to mention your section “ASQ Ottawa Section 407”.

This complete process of applying for the examination and need to be done by the person who is appearing for the examination.

How to Earn Recertification Units?

As soon as you are certified by ASQ, you start accruing recertification units. You will need 18 units to recertify. Specific information is included in the “Recertification Journal/Application”.

Important notes:

  • All information/activities pending review and final decision.
  • Employment RU credit must fall in the pertaining certification(s) body of knowledge.
  • All category activities must be in the pertaining certification(s) body of knowledge or be directly job enhancing/related.

Documentation:

Here are some examples of documentation to save and send with your journal/application.

  • Conference name badges, program agendas, attendance registration sheets
  • Past and present employment verification letters
  • Professional society meeting attendance receipts
  • Letters of participation and/or continuing service on professional society committees
  • Student transcripts
  • Training records—certificates, course outlines, employee training records, attendance rosters
  • Instructor records of courses taught (for instructor credit)
  • Letters from clients whom you have serviced (for self-employed)

Note: Do not send in documentation for activities as you complete them. Log your activities in your recertification journal, collect the needed documentation and keep all information together for when it comes time for recertification.
